Introduction to Engineering & Processing Research Division

 

On 1st May 2000, with the formation of Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) the former Chemistry and Technology Division was disbanded. A new Engineering and Processing (E&P) Research Division was formed. The E&P Research Division comprises four research units namely Milling and Processing Unit, Biomass Technology Unit, Energy and Environment Unit, and Mechanisation and Engineering Unit which was included during restructuring on 14th January 2020.

 

The scopes of research and development of the E&P Research Division include development of innovative and green technologies for adoption in palm oil milling, environmental and sustainability studies, development and implementation of biofuel and bioenergy, development and production of value-added green products and chemicals from oil palm biomass, oil palm mechanisation and engineering, and last but not least, technology commercialisation.
